Vikram Solar is one of the largest Indian solar module manufacturer with 3.5 GW capacity having strong presence in India, US and international markets. We have a track record of being an early adopter in technology with manufacturing facilities based on global best practices. Furthermore, we are constantly pursuing opportunities and product segments which leverage our existing technology platform and know-how. On the research and development front, we are constantly collaborating with leading laboratories worldwide to conduct research study programmes.
Our factories are located at Kolkata, WB, India and at Oragadam in Chennai, TN India.
Both our manufacturing units are automated, & our operations at Kolkata are certified under ISO 14001:2015 standard for environment management and the ISO 45001:2018 standard for occupational health and safety management systems implementation. Further, the quality management systems at Kolkata are certified ISO 9001:2015. We have also obtained OHSAS certification addressing the occupational health and safety standard aspects of our business.
We ensure product reliability by following internal reliability test as per IEC 61215 certification and also perform several other tests such as:
Electroluminescence testing, Thermal cycling test, Humidity freeze test, Potential induced degradation test, Light induced degradation, Mechanical load test, Damp heat test
ikram Solar received the coveted ISO 17025 accreditation for its Research and Development (R&D) laboratory by the prestigious National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL), India to test the performance and reliability of our high efficiency solar PV modules. The accreditation process for Vikram Solar’s state-of-the-art R&D laboratory involved a detailed quality system assessment based on domestic and international standards.
We have also obtained domestic product certification BIS 14286 for all our current products.
With quality at the core of our ethos, our modules undergo real-world simulated tests like thermal cycling, Potential Induced Degradation, Light Induced Degradation, damp heat, Ultraviolet exposure and degradation. Our processes are optimized through practice of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methods.
We, at Vikram Solar are focusing on converging digital technologies with manufacturing operations. With artificial intelligence, cognitive modelling, machine learning, deep learning, virtual reality, augmented reality and robotic process automation, our R&D team has leveraged digitization initiatives that allow seamless processes, such as lean manufacturing, reducing and regulating wastage.
Our strategy is to be a “fast follower,” which entails adopting new, promising and proven technologies early. We achieve this through the continued development of innovative products, which enables us to expand our product portfolio and drive increased product orders going forward. This can be evidenced by the constant improvements of module wattages and efficiencies since 2009, as illustrated.
